Labiaplasty in Washington, DC

Just like the rest of the body, the vagina is susceptible to the effects of aging and other natural events like pregnancy. A labiaplasty can help women correct changes in the vagina or otherwise improve its appearance. Younger Image Plastic Surgery Center offers this treatment to women living in Washington, DC, Arlington, and nearby areas of Maryland and Virginia from our offices in Vienna, Woodbridge, and Rockville.

What is a Labiaplasty?

The labia can be a source of discomfort or self-consciousness to some women, especially if they are large or unusually shaped. A labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess tissue in order to improve comfort or enhance the appearance of the vagina. After a labiaplasty, our patients feel much more confident and attractive, which produces numerous benefits in their personal lives and in their relationships.

How Much Does a Labiaplasty Cost in Washington, DC?

The cost of a labiaplasty starts at $3,800, but will vary depending on the techniques used and the extent of treatment necessary to deliver your desired results. During your consultation, we will evaluate your cosmetic goals to develop a personalized treatment plan. At this time, we will be able to provide the full cost of your treatment. To schedule any treatment, we ask for a $1,000 deposit that is nonrefundable. Two weeks before surgery, the patient will have a pre-op appointment where the full balance is due to be paid in full.

We offer flexible financing options, including Alphaeon® and CareCredit® to ensure that each patient has access to the treatment that they need. Alphaeon® and CareCredit® pay us in full and the patient pays the financing company a monthly fee. We also accept cash, checks, and major credit cards for your convenience.

What is the Labiaplasty Procedure Like?

The most common labiaplasty technique involves trimming the leading edge of the labia. This reduces its size, which reduces discomfort and can help patients achieve their cosmetic goals. Another technique that we offer is called the “V” wedge technique. With this technique, parts of the labia are removed in a “V” shape, with the base of the “V” pointing towards the center of the vagina. Then, the ends of the “V” are sutured together. This enables patients to retain their natural color on the outer edges of the labia, which may have been removed with the former technique. A typical labiaplasty procedure is performed in less than two hours and is performed with local anesthesia.

What is Recovery like Following a Labiaplasty?

Recovery after a labiaplasty procedure is relatively short, with the initial recovery period lasting less than a week. During this time, you may experience mild discomfort and may need to take time off of work and other activities to rest. After the initial recovery period, we recommend that patients abstain from exercise and other strenuous activities for at least a month. Sexual intercourse can be resumed no earlier than six weeks after the labiaplasty procedure.
