Dr. Yousefi offers brow lift surgery for patients in Washington, DC, Vienna, Arlington and the surrounding areas of Northern Virginia.
The forehead can sag or droop with time, causing hooding of the upper eyelids. Sometimes a drooping or furrowed brow can make you look tired or angry. A sagging brow can also affect eyebrow position, which is an important part of one's expression and youthful look. A forehead or brow lift is the perfect procedure to address these changes.
How is a Brow Lift Performed?
A brow lift is used to correct the underlying forehead muscles that cause furrow lines. The technique is done with an endoscope, a tubular probe fitted with a tiny camera and inserted through tiny slips in the scalp where there is hair. This way the incisions are hidden and no one can detect that you had surgery, except the more rested and younger look.
Through the endoscope, Dr. Yousefi can find the offending muscles and cut them as they would during the traditional brow lift. The procedure requires several small incisions behind the frontal hairline, and avoids the traditional longer, more invasive incisions from ear to ear. Once the muscles are cut, frowning dramatically decreases and the skin above the nose relaxes, which lessens the forehead furrow.
What Can I Expect After a Brow Lift?
The entire procedure is relatively quick, only one and a half hours. Most patients experience some slight bruising and swelling; however this should subside after a week. Patients typically return to normal activities after one week’s time.
