Dr. Yousefi offers breast lift surgery for patients in Washington, DC, Vienna, Arlington and surrounding areas of Northern Virginia.
For many women, the day they notice their once beautiful breasts begin to sag and settle can be devastating. Many patients try temporary solutions such as push up bras; however Dr. Yousefi offers a permanent fix.
Breast lift surgery can raise the breasts into a more balanced position. Dr. Yousefi will design a breast lift treatment plan to cater to the results you desire with minimal scarring and discomfort.
How is a Breast Lift Performed?
The breast lift surgical procedure has come a long way. Techniques vary, but for those who have a lot of sagginess, the most common procedure involves an anchor-like incision along the underside of the breast. The incision goes around the area where skin will be removed, thus defining how the nipple will be relocated. When the excess skin has been removed, the nipple and areola are moved into a higher position. The skin surrounding the areola is brought down and together to reshape the breast.
Some patients with relatively small breasts and minimal sagging may be candidates for modified procedures requiring less extensive incisions. One such procedure is the "doughnut (or concentric) mastopexy" in which only a circular incision is made around the areola and a doughnut-shaped area of skin is removed. Recent innovations in breast lift techniques include minimal incision techniques and procedures that decrease the risk of nipple sensation loss. Another more recent technique that Dr. Yousefi performs is the use of suspension sutures to create a fuller look in the upper part of the breast and a longer lasting result.
Many patients choose to have a breast augmentation in conjunction with a breast lift, see our breast lift page for more information.
What Can I Expect After a Breast Lift?
Recovery for the breast lift is usually simple with little discomfort. Once the post-operative bandages are removed, the patient will need to wear a specialized surgical bra for several weeks. Patients sometimes report minor pain associated with surgery which can be treated with oral medication. While complications are rare, patients can minimize potential problems by carefully following the post-operative directions provided by Dr. Yousefi. Patients can typically return to light work in just one week.
How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost?
The cost for a breast lift is dependent on the amount of sagging and the technique used for surgery. At your initial consultation, Dr. Yousefi can discuss all of your pricing and financing options.
